REETA - Evaluations

An independent evaluation of REETA for the NRF evaluation found that REETA:

  • had made good links with a wide range of local partners across all sectors. These included statutory, voluntary, private and community organisations voluntary, private and community organisations.
  • had been particularly effective in engaging with Jobcentre Plus, as the key public agency responsible for helping communities to access employment.
  • was the only organisation in the area, which provided specialist support for refugees looking for training and employment support. For example, Jobcentre Plus provides support to unemployed people, and colleges run courses to improve language and employability skills. But without REETA there would be no-one to pull all of these strands together, e.g. to engage with members of the Vietnamese community, to negotiate with colleges to run courses, to provide language support and childcare where needed, to find a venue etc.
  • through outreach work, helps reach people who are less integrated and signposts them to the services they need services which already exist, but which they might otherwise not access.
